This is great. I think it's very important to be realistic in that most of us won't need the retirement budgets we think we need. However, what keeps me saving -- and I'm sure others as well -- is the fear of poor health in old age. Especially for Americans, it's scary to have the unknown of healthcare. That's why my retirement plan includes second citizenship somewhere that provides free health care :)
