Reading the ingredients of a product is a good habit. Even though it might be annoying at first — trust me, you really want to know what sh*t they sometimes put in your food. This is valid for whatever diet you’re on. It makes you more mindful of what you’re consuming.
Every attempt to get in the habit of doing this has been flustered by the amount of things I'm so clueless about on the label. It takes serious education and dedication.
